Daleel Petroleum Company LLC (Daleel) is a
50/50 joint venture company registered in Oman
between Mazoon Petrogas SAOC and Mazoon
Petrogas BVI for the purpose of operating
Block-5 on behalf of its shareholders. The
company was formed during the second half of
2002 following the assignment of Japex
interest in Block 5 to MP BVI in July 2002 and
subsequent re-assignment to the existing joint
venture shareholders. Daleel sole activities
relate to the exploration, appraisal and
production of hydrocarbon reserves in Block 5
located onshore in the Sultanate of Oman
approximately 450 km SW of Muscat (see Figure
1). Activities in Block 5 are governed by a
Petroleum Agreement (PA) with the Government
of the Sultanate of Oman.
