Daleel Petroleum LLC operates the Block-5
concession in Northwest Oman located
approximately 110 km southwest of Ibri.
In 1986 Daleel oil field was discovered by
JAPEX OMAN in its concession area , BLOCK-5.
In July 1990, the production was started from
the field using EDF installation. In December
1991, the construction of the permanent
production facilities was completed and the
production was switched over to the new Daleel
Production Station (DPS).Most of the
associated natural gas is treated and fraction
of it is flared. Treated gas is used as fuel
gas to run the power generators, injection
pumps and as blanketing gas. Recovered
hydrocarbon liquids NGL is spiked in the crude
oil stream and LPG is marketed in the region.
To enhance oil recovery from the reservoir,
Daleel Petroleum has embarked into the
implementation of a full field waterflooding
project and will drill a series of exploration
wells and production wells within the Block-5
concession area. Accordingly all related
facilities will be either upgraded or newly
installed to meet the requirement of such
waterflood project.
Access to PDO crude transport system is capped
at 25,000 bopd as per the Transport Agreement
between PDO and Block 5 operator which was
extended in May 2005 to year 2028 .
