Daleel Petroleum was established in 2002, as a joint venture between Mezoon Petrogas SAOC (Subsidiary of MB Holding) and Mezoon Petrogas BVI (Subsidiary of China National Petroleum Corporation). Our main stakeholder is the Government of the Sultanate of Oman.
Our operations from the beginning can be broken down into three stages. The first stage was from 2002 until 2004, which was “the study and understanding period” when we were only producing enough oil to cover our costs.
From 2004 until 2007, we had a period of “stable increases. The direction was towards extracting the easy oil with the original energy. In this second stage the focus was mainly diverted to the Daleel field. This is the phase of adaptation to new technology that was extended in application across the entire Daleel area.
In the third stage from 2008 until today, Daleel experienced a period referred to as the “jump increase”. Our production charts, reflected a dramatic increase of about 20% per year during this period.
The estimated reserves were several million barrels in 2002. In 2013, the estimated reserves were almost 30 times more. This resulted from extended exploration activities and the application of advanced recovery techniques.
Moving forward, Daleel will be focusing on construction and upgrading its facilities. This will upgrade our capacity and release the constraints to grow our operations.
